Serverspace 2024 – Annual Review

Итоги 2024 новость зарубежная

As 2025 picks up speed, we’re already gearing up for its challenges. The Serverspace team waste no time and continues to improve our services. Now is the perfect time to reflect on the major highlights of 2024 — new services and data centers, expanding our local presence, collaborating with an international GameDev project and more. Here’s a recap of the key events of the past year.

New services – unique opportunities

Last year, we launched several important new services: GPT integration via API and VoD.

Access to LLM through the API allows clients to integrate AI into their applications to automate business processes  quickly and efficiently. From chatbots and instant text translation to generating creative content, AI technologies open up new possibilities, boost productivity, and improve user experience.

We expanded our CDN capabilities, specifically for video content. In today’s highly competitive market, fast video loading is a must for any successful business. To help our users meet these standards, we introduced Video on Demand (VoD), which ensures instant delivery of video content at high speeds. User-uploaded video files are distributed through a global network of servers, always keeping them close to the end-user.

Infrastructure expansion: lower latency than ever

In 2024, our control panel gained two new locations for deploying virtual servers: Brazil (São Paulo) and the UAE (Dubai).

The Equinix SP3 data center in São Paulo is a leading data center in Brazil. It meets international quality standards and holds a full set of Tier III certifications from Uptime Institute, as well as the Operational Sustainability gold certification. SP3 houses vStack SL201-25RE servers with advanced 16-core Intel Xeon Gold 6226R processors (Cascade Lake architecture) running at 2.70 GHz.

Another new data center is Equinix DX1 in Dubai. This facility is designed according to Tier III standards and holds certifications like ISO 27001, ISO 9001, and PCI DSS. The cluster is equipped with vStack-R-SL201-25RE servers, featuring 16-core Intel Xeon Gold CPUs with a base frequency of 3.0 GHz.

Access to data centers in Brazil and the UAE allows Serverspace users to enter the South American and Middle Eastern markets swiftly and smoothly. These new locations ensure low latency, compliance with local data laws, and access to cutting-edge equipment for maximum performance.

Serverspace clouds across all continents

Last year, we made significant progress in our international expansion. Serverspace launched local branches in three countries: Brazil, Canada, and the UAE. These regions are rapidly developing in the IT sector and show strong demand for cloud technologies and digital solutions.

Users in Brazil can use serverspace.com.br, while in Canada they can use serverspace.ca. The launch of falconcloud.ae in the UAE is especially noteworthy — it’s a company powered by Serverspace technologies. Each project offers a wide range of cloud services, from vStack virtual servers to developer tools, all meeting the high standards of Serverspace. Local data centers ensure low latency and high reliability for businesses in these regions. All platforms also offer a free control panel in English and Spanish, local currency payment options, and 24/7 technical support.

New operating system: Rocky Linux

This year, we also added support for a new operating system — Rocky Linux. Rocky Linux is an open and stable OS developed as a replacement for CentOS following changes to its support model.

Here are five key advantages of Rocky Linux:

  1. Enterprise-grade stability: Rocky Linux offers a stable and reliable platform, ideal for enterprise environments.
  2. Community-driven: It is developed and maintained by a robust open-source community, ensuring transparency and continuous improvement.
  3. Binary compatibility: Rocky Linux is fully compatible with Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL), making it an excellent drop-in replacement.
  4. Long-term support: It provides long-term support (LTS) with security patches and updates for 10 years.
  5. Cost-effective: Being open-source and free, Rocky Linux reduces the total cost of ownership without compromising on performance or security.

Serverspace X Sumo Tatami collaboration

In 2024, we began collaborating with the international gamedev project Sumo Tatami. The creators of the game utilized the Serverspace platform to host their server infrastructure.

Serverspace virtual servers helped Sumo Tatami handle peak loads, ensured minimal latency, and provided users with an uninterrupted and immersive gaming experience. Thanks to the flexible infrastructure, the project was able to scale and maintain low ping while rapidly growing its global audience.

Plans for the future

In the coming year, we plan to take several important steps to further develop Serverspace. These include:

  • Opening a new office and VPS location in Uzbekistan;
  • Updating our referral program to make it even more rewarding for clients and partners;
  • Expanding the capabilities of VStack cloud servers, including backup creation in the control panel;
  • Adding new VPS locations;
  • Introducing additional operating systems for servers;
  • Launching new services and features.

We will continue to enhance our services, improve the stability, and boost the performance of all our solutions. Stay tuned for updates in our changelog, e-mail messages, LinkedIn, and Instagram — there are a lot of updates ahead!
