About AM2

AM2 is a modern European data center located in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. It provides a secure and reliable environment for IT infrastructure and complies with international availability, operational security, and data protection standards, including PCI DSS.

Serverspace hosts its VMware- and vStack-based cloud infrastructure at AM2. The location includes both the standard AM2 cluster and the Amsterdam High Performance cluster for more demanding workloads.

The facility is operated by Equinix, a global digital infrastructure provider with decades of experience and more than 280 data centers across 36 countries.

vStack cluster powered by Intel Xeon Gold

The cluster is built on Supermicro 2U servers equipped with:

Intel Xeon Gold 6248R processors with 24 cores and a base clock speed of 3 GHz;
Intel Xeon Gold 6326 processors with 16 cores and a base clock speed of 2.9 GHz;
Samsung DDR4 RDIMM memory;
1 TB Micron 5300 PRO and Samsung SATA SSDs;
LSI 9305-16i storage controllers supporting data transfer speeds of up to 12 Gbps.

vStack High Performance cluster powered by Intel Xeon Platinum

The High Performance infrastructure consists of seven dual-socket servers. Each node includes:

2 × Intel Xeon Platinum 8380 processors, providing a total of 80 cores and 160 threads;
16 × 64 GB DDR4 RDIMM modules operating at 2933/3200 MHz, for a total of 1 TB of RAM;
14 × 960 GB SATA SSDs;
2 × 480 GB SATA SSDs;
24 hot-swappable 2.5-inch SAS/SATA drive bays;
an LSI HBA 9500-8i storage controller;
2 dual-port NVIDIA Mellanox ConnectX-5 network adapters with speeds of up to 25 Gbps;
2 × 1300 W redundant power supply units.
